I love this! I use this for holding my laptop or iPad while watching tv on the couch. I pay bills, online shop, play video games, etc. I love the size. It's perfect. The wrist rest is awesome for typing to helping to avoid carpel tunnel if you type a lot like me. I haven't had to use the light but I love that it's there. I love that there is an extension on the side for added room though I haven't had to use that yet either. Great product! It's a must have if you are like me multitasking while watching tv in the living room and bedroom.
Laptops are one of the most popular and useful gifts for graduating teens. Some college bookstores have deals that come with tech support but, before you make a final decision, see what student discounts you can get from Apple, Microsoft, and Best Buy. When shopping for laptops, or other items from national retailers, parents should be aware that they can generally use college student discounts even if their student does not yet have a college ID card. Retailers often ask for a college email address that many schools issue over the summer, and some will give discounts with a college acceptance letter. Consumer Reports recommends the Acer Spin 1 which retails for about $250. MacBooks with enough memory and computing power for undergraduates start at about $1,100.
I gave this a four star review only because of the price. I loved the snacks and everything that was in the box but feel that it is a tiny bit pricey and just a small amount lower would be more suitable. The items were fantastic. I am a very healthy eater and was introduced to some items that I never heard of before and learned to love new and healthy snacks. They had dried corn in the box among some other dried fruits. At first I was skeptical, but then I found out that I loved it and it was only 2 points on the points diet that I am following and have lost 15 pounds in the past 6 weeks on. I don't want to risk my losing weight for snacks, so this box was a real treat as everything in ... full review

Baked Goods are always a very inexpensive, tasteful gift to give. I make homemade cookies, cheesecakes, brownies or even pies, depending on who I’m giving them too and if their needing them for an actual occasion or if it’s just a get together during the holidays. This year though, I told my daughter, who’s 24 and my neice who’s 27, all I want from them this year is to get their behinds in the kitchen with me and let me teach them things that I’ve learned from over 30 years of baking. I bake everything from scratch. No store bought pie crusts in my house, EVER! lol I keep telling them that they don’t want to wait until it’s too late to try for themselves, especially now that they are both mothers too and could pass this down to their daughters. Too, Big Lots is a great place to find inexpensive cook books from Food Network Chefs.
It’s natural to want to ply your college-bound child with gifts, but one thing to consider is that everything he or she brings to college “must fit in a space slightly larger than a Mini Cooper,” says Harry H. Harrison, Jr., a New York Times best-selling author of parenting books and books about preparing teens for adulthood, including “1001 Things Every College Student Needs to Know.” For that reason alone, it’s best to choose items that are beautiful, practical or a combination of the two .
For picnics on the quad, summertime camping trips, or even just watching flicks in the common room, the rumpl blanket is a cross between a sleeping bag and a duvet — a.k.a. a must-have for any adventure. The match-everything design will look just as at home thrown over a dorm bed or right beside a campfire, plus, it folds up to roughly the size of a basketball.
Food, honestly, is never a bad gift. People need to eat, and they’d prefer to eat something delicious. Similarly, home décor is often the last thing on somebody’s mind. So give them a jar or vase full of the delicious manna of your choice, and once they’ve scarfed that down, they’ll have a nice receptacle for flowers to go on the dining room table. (Or the hand-me-down kitchen table with the bum leg that could really use all the help it can get.)
College students have a lot on their plates, from meeting deadlines to managing their schedules to remembering to exercise, and the new Apple Watch Series 4 can offer the wrist-based assistant they didn’t know they needed. With a 30 percent larger display than past models, the Series 4 band comes in three aluminum or three stainless steel finishes, and the watch will also work with any of the previous bands.
Wow! these are some amazing gift ideas. Well thinking about gifts for loved ones is very hectic task. I always try to select such gifts that can be beneficial for others. What's the perfect present for someone in college? Boy gifts, girl gifts, grad gifts, going-away gifts…the range of occasions and options can make anyone's head spin. After all, everyone has different tastes. You need to think about what kind of gift your recipient would appreciate most. Is there something they would enjoy but would never buy for themselves? Would they like a novelty gift that will be good for a laugh? Or should you go with a functional gift that can make their life easier?
So, like you all ,I've been a coffeeholic for many years. Like you ,I've struggled to have a decent maker in my kitchen. I recently finished up with my Cuisinart mod#CHW-12. Had it for 5yrs. It got to point of no longer producing a well tasting cup. We did the Vinigar cleaning etc. So, i spent MANY hours searching online for a decent Maker. Problem was the abundance of poor reviews encompassing many manufacturers! It's now 2018 and we have trouble creating a Kit Coffee Brewer thats decent! W.T.F! I did a switch and desired a maker that will produce a single cup as wife n i both have coffee at different times and mostly need the one 16oz cup. In searching for the 12cup Carafe / or single cup Maker ,my choices became limited. Read the reviews and pulled the trigger on this. It's only been 1wk now but i can honestly state that it is the BEST maker I've ever used! I ran a full 12cup Carafe first off, thn dumped. Then did same for the single cup side. ( full 14oz). Then ran 12cups... Read more
I purchased the XL version of this bag on May, 11 2015 and I have carried it nearly every day since. I bought this to replace a similar messenger bag made by Rapid Dominance, because I was searching for something with a bit more of a vintage style. I researched quite a few different bags before deciding on this particular model. The bag arrived within a few days of my order, it was boxed and bagged inside the box. I was immediately amazed by the quality of the bag. The size was perfect at 17.3". I excitedly began jamming my daily stuff into the new bag. It easily holds my binder, and a variety of small things that I carry daily. I do not use this bag for transporting any type of laptop, so I cannot speak to using it for that purpose.
Last year, my husband bought me my favorite things from my childhood. A copy of the Mrs. Doubtfire movie, some Dunkaroos, and some Kool Aid. One of my favorite gifts ever because it took so long of us talking about our childhoods for him to come up with my favorites. You could make it less expensive by eliminating the movie and going with favorite childhood snacks. You have to buy some on Amazon because they aren’t in stores anymore necessarily.
Spikeball has hit college campuses hard, but if your collegian does not have a set, this is a fun, inexpensive, active game to take back to campus. With four players (2 vs. 2), one net, and one tennis-size ball, the game can be played in any small patch of grass and stores easily under a bed. Kid already has Spikeball? Try KanJam for the same four players but this time substitute a Frisbee for a ball and a can for a net.
Does your boyfriend love solving puzzles? Instead of getting a puzzle with dolphins or cars, reach for a more heartfelt gift. Putting your picture on it through websites like Shutterfly makes the personal gift even more special. “I made a collage of us in puzzle form,” said Betty Straub, a junior at Creighton University. “We put it together with each other and it was so much fun.” Say hello to the ultimate date-night activity, paired with a bottle of wine.
Saying goodbye to your college-bound daughter doesn’t get more fun than this. Do Your Laundry covers 270 conversation-starting topics – from laundry to posture to finances, with just enough motherly sass to keep her turning the pages all the way to the end with room to include your own special message. Emails just don’t always cut it. Thank-you notes, condolence letters, and even some follow-ups to job interviews still need to be penned by hand, and many of our kids have nothing to write them on. Sure your kid can run to the store every time he or she needs to write a note, but if there’s a nice box of stationery on hand, the chances are much better that the note will actually get written. Moo offers beautiful letterhead that can be personalized on high-quality paper stock. The designs are far from traditional and the paper is safe for laser printers. Paperless Post offers personalized paper stationery in a seemingly endless array of designs.
The Roku 4 worked fine for the first 3 months and I was happy with it overall. I wanted a 4k streaming device that supported multi-channel audio. I also wanted a platform that had the widest range of compatibility, so the Roku 4 fit the bill. The menu and controls were more responsive than my smartTV (Samsung from 2013). Netflix and Amazon Prime worked well without any probs. The remote is just ok. I don't like the dedicated channel buttons, especially since I don't use rdio or sling. It would be nice to be able to configure those for channels I actually use.
Go to Whole Foods, or whatever vaguely chichi market you have in your town, and loiter in the wine section. Look a little confused. It won’t be long before a concerned person wearing an apron or a name tag will wander up to you and ask you if they can help. And, oh, can they! Tell them your budget, what your friend likes, and they’ll give you plenty of options. Be upfront if you don’t know anything—they can still make recommendations. Wine store employees are a lot like librarians: they wander about all day just dying for someone to ask them a question.

On many college campuses bicycles are the mode of transportation, and helpful accessories are a welcome gift. Vibrelli had a great phone mount that allows for hands-free talking and navigation without the risk of dropping your phone. A rechargeable bike light from Light and Motion makes a nice addition to the gift and helps increase safe biking at night.
