A new camera would be a great gift for an aspiring filmmaker — or just a student who’s excited to share their study-abroad experience with family and friends. “I love making videos, so having something smaller and easier to transport would be awesome,” says Howard Lin, a senior at University of Florida. “My dream would be the Sony Alpha A9, but it costs quite a bit so most likely not. I think a Sony Rx100 Mark V.”

45. Video Game Console—Does the college student you are shopping for love to game? He or she would probably enjoy a new gaming system like a Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Microsoft Xbox 360, or Nintendo Switch. These units connect to the Internet so that users can game with friends remotely as well as access web and video services like Netflix and YouTube.
Really excited to get started. I just found Christmas gifts for my twins teacher and their classmates. I have a question though anyone know of a craft to hold a Christmas ornament the kids are making in class they are glass bulbs so my kids are responsible for the individual packaging for them I need 29 by Wednesday. Please help any suggestions :-)
Last year, my husband bought me my favorite things from my childhood. A copy of the Mrs. Doubtfire movie, some Dunkaroos, and some Kool Aid. One of my favorite gifts ever because it took so long of us talking about our childhoods for him to come up with my favorites. You could make it less expensive by eliminating the movie and going with favorite childhood snacks. You have to buy some on Amazon because they aren’t in stores anymore necessarily.
20. Photo Book—If you are buying a gift for a college or university student who has moved away from family and friends to attend school, consider giving him or her a photo book. Companies like Picaboo, Shutterfly, and Walmart offer a large number of styles and designs. You just upload pictures and can make a custom photo book that is sure to bring a smile to a homesick college student's face. And it is a great keepsake that can be kept for years.

If there was one thing I often went without in college, it was new clothes. I loved getting new clothes, but I couldn’t always justify the expense. Most college students will be THRILLED with any type of clothing. Stitch Fix is one of my favorite creative ideas for a college student – you can give them a gift card to get styled. Stitch Fix sends you a box of personally curated clothes for the recipient. It’s like having your own personal stylist!

You probably remember all too well from your days of academia: college is very much a work-hard, play-hard time in your life. With one charge, this speaker boasts 24 hours of run time.
I love to give a nice batch of homemade cookies or candies. Truffles are easy to make and well received. I like to make biscotti because they are cheap, easy, and most people really like them. They are expensive to buy ready-made, so people seem to think they are extra good. Most people love them and you can give an assortment of flavors if you have a lot of people to give to.
College is notorious for taking away any semblance of a good night’s sleep. To help make it out of bed on those way-too-early mornings after way-too-late nights, Philips has devised a wake-up light that imitates the sun. 30 minutes before you need to get out of bed, the light will slowly increase the brightness in your room, simulating a natural sunrise. This gradual wake-up is proven to increase your mood, energy, and productivity throughout the day.
To go with the bigger phones up there, it’s a good idea to toss in something a little more compact, at a price point that you won’t lament if they’re left behind at class. They’re the perfect happy medium between earbuds that look cool, but are also universal enough to take on a run. Starting last month, my Roku 4's fan started running constantly and making strange noises that I could hear 2 rooms away. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating about the noise, but it is LOUD. I contacted customer service to report the issue and worked through their suggested steps of rebooting the thing, unplugging it, resetting... Read more
2. Shadow box. Many craft and frame stores offer "shadow boxes": a box that has one side made of glass (made to look like a frame) that you can hang on a wall. Create a special one tailored just for your graduate—with mementos, college insignia, and even sports paraphernalia, if appropriate. As an added bonus, shadow boxes work well in an office or in your graduate's new apartment.

Whether your kid is saving money by turning down the heat or surviving in a drafty dorm room, one of these throws is great for wrapping up while studying or watching TV or layering on a bed at night. Faux fur is very popular, but no one ever went wrong with cashmere. Pottery Barn has a great selection at under $50 as do many other retailers, and the monogram option is also available.

Whether it’s your college mascot or his favorite professional team, your guy will surely sport his gift all day, everyday. Get yourself something to match to make it even cuter. Most people know about Mophie now through their Juice Pack line of battery cases. As a college kid, your phone is kind of like your sidekick, and even though the juice packs work great, the cases make your phone bit bulky. Tossing a Powerstation XL into their backpack will ensure that any student won’t suffer from dying phone syndrome. This particular rose gold model offers 10,000 mAh of power capacity, giving users up to five full charges, depending on the device.
As apple cider is to fall, hot chocolate is to winter—regular, steaming mugs of that chocolate-y goodness can propel you through the short days and oh-so-long nights of January and February. Grab a few packets of your favorite brand (and don’t forget you can get different varieties, like mint or Mexican chocolate) and put them in a festive mug for your recipient’s pleasure.
Believe it or not, there are toys that make beautiful music. Street style is a source of endless inspiration, and this book, which highlights fashionable women in New York, Paris, Melbourne, Tokyo, Madrid, and London, is full of ideas. For teens, perhaps the most important lesson of this book is that style is individual, and expressing yourself and doing your own thing is always cooler than following the crowd.
And now, with services like Shutterfly, Snapfish, or even Target, you don’t even have to put those precious memories into a scrapbook. They can go on magnets, coffee mugs, mousepads, and to-go cups. Or just on a big poster. You could make a calendar for your family or friend group that has everyone’s birthday or anniversary listed on it. No need to find somewhere to get real prints of your digital photos, and no need to spend an afternoon covered in glue and discarded bits of construction paper. (Unless, of course, that’s your thing.) Shutterfly runs big discounts pretty regularly, so keep your eyes open and you might be able to cross a whole bevy of people off your list with one order.

Start with a block of 4x4-inch wood, and sand it to smooth the rough edges. Once sanded, paint the top a color to coordinate with your friend's workspace. Cut the bottom of the block at an angle to tilt the base, then measure the sides of the block to determine the length of decorative paper needed to cover them. Soak the paper in water to make it pliable, then use a thin layer of watered-down decoupage medium to evenly attach the paper to the sides of the block. Line up the paper with the block's painted top; if the paper is too long at the bottom end, neatly wrap it around the base. Seal the paper with a top coat of decoupage medium. On the top of the block, measure and mark pencil holes in an evenly spaced pattern; drill holes into the top at a 90-degree angle using a 1/2-inch bit.
The market is saturated with college grads, and they’re going to need a backup plan. That plan is, and always has been, gold! While they’ve been drinking Keystone Light and playing X-Box (or worse, writing math problems and studying business plans), the smart folks have been in the hills filling up their pockets with precious metals. And having a blast doing it.
