“Wedding registry–type things make sense,” adds Cassidy Olsen, another soon-to-be graduate of Tufts, “because a lot of us are moving into places for the first time permanently. I know nothing about glassware, so I couldn’t say what glassware, but a combo of drinking glasses and wine glasses would be good.” We here at the Strategist love the Bormioli Rocco Bodega short tumblers, which do double duty as wine glasses and drinkware.

They will make lots of friends in college, and some of them will be grimy as hell. Their roommates’ friends will be even worse. And their roommates will possibly be worse still. This handheld vacuum not only leaves everything it touches spotless, it eliminates most of the things you don’t want to catch while sitting on the couch or walking across the bathroom floor.

The K-12 back-to-school shop may have seemed expensive, but the dorm room shop is the one that breaks the bank. The National Retail Federation estimates that families spend almost $900 a year outfitting their students for college. For high school graduates moving into a dorm or an apartment, a gift certificate to Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, or other national retailers will help them to outfit their room. Remind them to look for special in-store college evenings and deep discount coupons before they buy.
Cologne is always a nice gift cause it shows that you care. It’s basically saying, “I can’t possibly be too close to you.” Just think about the chills he’ll get when your nose lingers near his neck.  Also, make sure you buy him a scent you love. Say goodbye to the scent of middle school (aka overwhelming AXE *gag*) and hello to college sophistication.

We got my brother a water bottle, and he was so excited! HydroFlask is a popular brand, but it’s pricey! We LOVE the Simple Modern brand of water bottle. It keeps the water really cold (and your ice sticks around for a long time), but they are half the price. I have the 64-ounce bottle, but there are different ones in a variety of sizes. The HydroFlask lids do fit on them. I bought one of the HydroFlask straw lids, because I prefer that for drinking out of my bottle.
It is that time of year where everyone is looking for the perfect gift for loved ones, some of us are poor or don't know what to get that special person. It may seem easy to pick out presents for college students because at this point they are probably running out of everything: money, food and motivation. I have compiled a list of ideas for the college student and/or peer in your life!
I own both the Livescribe 3 and the Echo pen from Livescribe. I'm not interested in all the features, so I'll just write about what I've focused on doing: transforming handwriting in ink in my notebook to editable text in a Word document. BOTH PENS CAN DO THIS. Though Livescribe 3 does an extraordinary job of keeping this information from you. Livescribe all but sabotages itself with its terrible web site and near useless manuals.
This mirror is great! I use it for shaving every time I take a shower. It stays relatively fog free, I just take my detachable shower head and spray the face and back of the mirror with hot water right before I start shaving. I have noticed it will still fog up from my breath, which is why I docked it a star, but that only happens when I try to get close to the mirror near the end of my shave.
Some tout college as being the best four years of your life. If you think of the good times, college surrounds you with incredible friends, drags you to incredible parties, and isn’t quite as full of “real life” responsibilities yet.  But on the flipside, college is also jam-packed with exams, tests, student loans, and questionable living conditions.
8. A recipe box or binder full of family recipes. This may take some time to put together, but it's definitely worth the extra effort. Put together a recipe box or binder full of your favorite recipes, your family recipes, or even recipes from friends. This personalized collection can help your graduate learn how to cook meals that are familiar and delicious.

What's the perfect present for someone in college? Boy gifts, girl gifts, grad gifts, going-away gifts…the range of occasions and options can make anyone's head spin. After all, everyone has different tastes. You need to think about what kind of gift your recipient would appreciate most. Is there something they would enjoy but would never buy for themselves? Would they like a novelty gift that will be good for a laugh? Or should you go with a functional gift that can make their life easier?
I was thrilled at the idea of taking notes with this pen and then having them converted to digital text. The Livescribe website says that you can purchase MyScript software separately, and that will convert your notes to digital text. However, after I purchased the pen and tried to buy MyScript, I found out that the software is no longer available for purchase. I contacted Livescribe and they confirmed that they no longer offer a way to convert notes to digital text, even though their website still claims this is possible.

Wow! these are some amazing gift ideas. Well thinking about gifts for loved ones is very hectic task. I always try to select such gifts that can be beneficial for others. That’s why, this Christmas I gave a very unique and beneficial thing to my loved ones which is Himalayan salt lamps and tea light holders. These are so beautiful and different. Himalayan salt lamps are said to have health and healing properties as well. So, I thought it would be a great gift idea. You can visit visit the given website of ittefaq.co to know more about these amazing lamps.
Gone are the days of solo cups and ping-pong balls in the fraternity or sorority house basement. But we’re wiling to bet the new grad doesn’t have many sophisticated cocktail recipes up his sleeve. Up his entertaining game with this clever set of four pint glasses. Each one has measurement lines that provide clear instructions for making four classic cocktails.
My wife and I have had this coffee maker for a month, and we love it. Well, we love HALF of it -- the left half. We've probably made more than 100 cups of coffee on the single-serve side, and every single one has been terrific, with better taste than one typically gets from making a full pot of coffee. And with the single-serve side, we're actually using LESS coffee than we were using with our previous coffee maker, which was a standard "carafe" style coffee maker. (In fact, we're using about HALF as much coffee as we were using with the old coffee maker.) One of the issues that this coffee maker solves is that my wife likes lightly brewed flavored coffee, while I like dark-roast coffee that is brewed for hand-to-hand combat. ;-) This coffee maker works well in that type of environment.
When the Amazon Echo made its debut, it seemed like a great idea. But the large, expensive gadget was not a great fit for college students. At $49.99 (Amazon Prime) and the size of a small clock radio, the Echo Dot is a much better buy. With voice activation, the Echo Dot can order an Uber, wake you up, get sports scores or the weather, answer your factual questions, and read you an audiobook or podcast. Not surprisingly, it can order anything from Amazon Prime. For college kids feeling particularly lazy, the Dot can do conversions and answer simple math questions shouted from across the room.
To go with the bigger phones up there, it’s a good idea to toss in something a little more compact, at a price point that you won’t lament if they’re left behind at class. The Symphonize NRG 3.0 buds are super unique, hand-crafted wood headphones with a tangle-free cable, goldplated jack and noise-isolated sound. They’re the perfect happy medium between earbuds that look cool, but are also universal enough to take on a run. Six pairs of custom fit silicone tips will provide optimal comfort, while the in-line microphone makes it easy to adjust volume, skip tracks, activate voice control and answer phone calls in a jiffy.
The concept is awesome. The application is alright. Sound quality is okay. Overall, I use this every day for lectures. All of my lectures get recorded, but I very rarely upload and listen to content back. I believe this is helpful to studiers and I think it helped improve the way I study. Among other changes, this helped raise my GPA to a 4.0 this semester. I would recommend this concept, but I would also look to see if there are superior products out there.

I've been using Roku devices for many years starting with a Roku 2 XS. I'm not a fan of Apple products and want a neutral streaming device that covers all major streaming services so Roku was the natural choice. There have been software issues here and there over the years but they have been minor and swiftly dealt with. When the Roku 4 came out I bought it without question. Sure my Roku 3 is still running just fine but I'm a sucker for the latest and greatest. Just as I expected the Roku 4 is a little faster, doesn't crash, there are no software glitches and has the same simple and functional interface. Unfortunately I appear to be one of the few that received a less than quiet fan. I must admit that not having a fan was a huge plus on the previous units. Hopefully a future hardware revision will substitute with a larger heat sink or more energy efficient processor to eliminate that failure point. Luckily it turned out to be easy to upgrade the heat sink myself although not very... Read more
A few months ago, commuting meant crossing the quad. Now, commuting means walking to the train station and taking a 45-minute ride across state lines. She’s really going to need her daily jolt of caffeine. Ensure she’s fully energized by the time she sits down at her cubicle with this portable espresso maker. Isn’t that the boost everyone needs while pursuing their undergraduate degree? Ahead, you’ll find gifts for college students that will cement your cool sister/aunt/mentor status. Here’s a gift that students will appreciate the first time they are sick at 2 a.m. Put together a kit that includes first aid supplies and over-the-counter medications that your teen is likely to need. Steer away from prepackaged kits; no one knows what your kid needs better than you. Consider: cough drops, cold remedies, eye drops, thermometer, hydrocortisone, antacids, analgesics, antibacterial creams, and other things your college kid will need.
You can’t swing a dead cat around the countryside without hitting a craft brewery these days. Pretty much everywhere you turn, there’s a bunch of bearded guys in flannel shirts offering you a free sample of their latest creation, usually something with a clever name like Hops on Pop IPA. You could get something local, something seasonal, or something weird. Great for that friend who’s still drinking Natty Lite at age 32.

Have you found yourself a guy not ready to step into the mature world of cologne? Then a video game is perfect for him. But have you really payed any attention to what he’s playing? 11. Briefcase or nice bag. While a briefcase is the traditional gift for a law school graduate, it can also be a great gift for any college graduate. Don't worry about needing to buy the nicest, brand-name, all-leather bag you can find, either; messenger bags and other options might work, too, depending on your graduate's career field and geographic location.
Everyone striking out on their own needs a good set of knives, and these stainless-steel babies do the trick. They may look playful thanks to their nonstick coatings, but these Cuisinart knives mean business, too. Their ergonomic handles make slicing easier, and the color-coding with help prevent your newbie chef from cross-contaminating his foods.
This giant bean bag is big enough for two, but it’s so comfortable they may not want to share it. Study in luxury or take a long nap between exams. Either way, we promise they’ll find a use for this that they soon can’t live without. But beware: just like their last questionable relationship, people have been known to disappear into these for months.
