Unless you live in Florida or Southern California, it’s probably cold where you are. And cold-weather accessories are, at least for me, always the first things that go missing just when you need them. They fall out of a pocket, or somehow find their way under the seat of your car, or you toss them in the back of the closet and only rediscover them the following summer when you’re looking for some long-lost piece of sports equipment.
Starting last month, my Roku 4's fan started running constantly and making strange noises that I could hear 2 rooms away. I thought other reviewers were exaggerating about the noise, but it is LOUD. I contacted customer service to report the issue and worked through their suggested steps of rebooting the thing, unplugging it, resetting... Read more
Once the daily PE classes or high school sports teams wind down, it becomes all too easy for college students to lower their level of physical activity. Sometimes it takes a bribe, in the form of a tech gadget they covet, to get them moving again. Some gift options include, a fitness tracker (Fitbits start at $100) Bluetooth earbuds (The Wirecutter recommends the $100 Jlab Epic 2), insulated water bottles like S’ip by S’Well ($25 each) or a new gym bag.
Looking for gift both of you can enjoy together? “Tickets to a comedy show with a comedian like Kevin Hart,” Boston College senior Kevin Chapin recommended. Not only will the two of you laugh the night away, you won’t have to plan a big anniversary date. The gift is the date. You get double the fun with half the work. You”ll even continue your relationship with even more inside jokes to share.
French presses are a great way to make coffee. With nothing more than water and coffee grounds, you can easily produce a cup of coffee worthy of any Parisian cafe. But until now there have been two big drawbacks: A traditional French Press does not keep coffee warm and the glass carafe is all too easily shattered. Enter the double-wall aluminum French press, which solves both of these problems. This one from SterlingPro is very reasonably priced on Amazon Prime, or we liked the Bodum Columbia in a variety of sizes including a single cup version that makes coffee right in a travel mug. Le Creuset offers a ceramic version (shown) in full array of stunning colors.
I purchased the XL version of this bag on May, 11 2015 and I have carried it nearly every day since. I bought this to replace a similar messenger bag made by Rapid Dominance, because I was searching for something with a bit more of a vintage style. I researched quite a few different bags before deciding on this particular model. The bag arrived within a few days of my order, it was boxed and bagged inside the box. I was immediately amazed by the quality of the bag. The size was perfect at 17.3". I excitedly began jamming my daily stuff into the new bag. It easily holds my binder, and a variety of small things that I carry daily. I do not use this bag for transporting any type of laptop, so I cannot speak to using it for that purpose.
Comic books are a growing market, and there’s a lot more out there these days than just Marvel and DC. There are classics like The Watchmen (for someone who’s interested in a new take on superhero tropes), socio-political graphic memoirs like Persepolis or Maus, and literary works from Chris Ware or Daniel Clowes. A great recent series is The Wicked + The Divine, about 12 gods who are incarnated every 90 years as David Bowie-esque pop stars.
When the Amazon Echo made its debut, it seemed like a great idea. But the large, expensive gadget was not a great fit for college students. At $49.99 (Amazon Prime) and the size of a small clock radio, the Echo Dot is a much better buy. With voice activation, the Echo Dot can order an Uber, wake you up, get sports scores or the weather, answer your factual questions, and read you an audiobook or podcast. Not surprisingly, it can order anything from Amazon Prime. For college kids feeling particularly lazy, the Dot can do conversions and answer simple math questions shouted from across the room.
54. Toaster Bags—There might not be a handier gift for a college guy living in a dorm than a product that allows him to quickly make a grilled cheese sandwich in the toaster. As an added bonus, most toaster bags are reusable and multi-purpose (i.e., they can also be used in the oven or microwave for all kinds of foods, including pizza, chicken nuggets, and frozen waffles).

Think of the Amazon Echo Dot like the ultimate study companion. Ask the hands-free, voice-activated device any question, be it study questions or what the hockey score is, and Amazon’s Alexa AI will search the web to get you the answer. Plus, with a few simple words, the Echo Dot can control any lights in your house, set an alarm, notify you of your schedule, quiz you on homework, or Google your study qualms.
15. Chalkboard Glasses—When you have a group of friends together and everyone is drinking from the same style of glasses, it's easy to mix up whose glass is whose. Chalkboard glasses solve this problem. People can write their names on their glasses, and the chalk easily washes off later. You also have the option of purchasing chalkboard labels that adhere to the glasses that the gift recipient already owns.

A huge part of fitting in at school is what music you’re listening to, and what better gift to give a new student than, well, basically all of it? With access to tens of millions of songs, Spotify is the industry standard for streaming, and a premium subscription unlocks ad-free listening and the ability to download songs onto any device for offline use. It’s the perfect add-on to pretty much any gift on this list.
College students spend long hours at their desk studying and that’s why good lighting like the TaoTronics Elune TT-DL07 Dimmable Rotatable LED Desk Lamp is so important.  This model uses the latest LED technology and features 4 lighting modes and 5 levels of brightness to create the perfect lighting environment.  This elegant and ergonomic desk lamp features a 180-degree rotatable head, a 140-degree swing arm, and a rotatable base to give your student complete flexibility in placement of the light.  Its LED lights provide a vision-friendly, full-range lighted area with no dark spots, ghosting, or glare.  It has a built-in 1-hour auto-off timer and even a 5V/2A charging port for portable electronics.  This gift will be with them their whole college experience and most likely long after thanks to long-lasting LED lights and a 1-Year warranty.
What is a Smart Pen?  It’s the modern way to take notes in class.  Pens like the Livescribe 2GB Echo Smartpen record everything your student writes and hears either together or separately.  They can tap anywhere on their notes taken on Livescribe Dot paper to replay the audio from that exact moment or transfer notes and audio to their Mac or Windows PC for later review, organization, and sharing.  They can even search their notes for fast location of critical sections.  Sharing is easy via email or other services.  They need to use special paper, but that’s a small drawback compared to how helpful this form of note-taking can be to students.  With all the Livescribe Dot paper formats, your student is sure to find one that is best for them including college-ruled notebooks, lined journals, blank journals, mini journals, A5-sized notebooks, grid notebooks, flip notepads, and even sticky notes.  They can even print their own dot paper for free using the Echo Desktop application.  With 2GB of memory, there is plenty of room for notes or audio including up to 200 hours of audio or thousands of pages of notes.  It comes with a 50-page tarter notebook, the Echo Desktop software, a micro USB cable, 2 ink cartridges, and a smartpen cap.  Give the gift that makes the most difficult part of college (other than the tests and quizzes) easier for them.
20. Photo Book—If you are buying a gift for a college or university student who has moved away from family and friends to attend school, consider giving him or her a photo book. Companies like Picaboo, Shutterfly, and Walmart offer a large number of styles and designs. You just upload pictures and can make a custom photo book that is sure to bring a smile to a homesick college student's face. And it is a great keepsake that can be kept for years.
As apple cider is to fall, hot chocolate is to winter—regular, steaming mugs of that chocolate-y goodness can propel you through the short days and oh-so-long nights of January and February. Grab a few packets of your favorite brand (and don’t forget you can get different varieties, like mint or Mexican chocolate) and put them in a festive mug for your recipient’s pleasure.
Speaking of wedding registries, a set of matching flatware would be nice so that they can retire (or maybe even return) the dining hall forks and knives they may have stolen over the years. Senior writer Lauren Levy fell into a rabbit hole of stylish flatware while putting together her wedding registry and “flirted with the idea of Hay’s Everyday Silverware,” which she calls “basic and standard, but also have their own distinct shape, feel, and style.”
Sometimes guys’ obsessions with video games can seem a little hard to understand. But if your boyfriend loves them, you can’t pass up an opportunity to hand him something related to it. Buying your man something related to his favorite game, like Overwatch, will show him how much you care. “Even if she hates video games,” said University of Iowa junior Wyatt Dlouhy, “it’s nice to see her go out of her way to learn about something she doesn’t care much about.” Your thoughtfulness will mean so much more than a video game session.
We have Amazon Prime and would recommend it to anyone, but particularly to students with limited resources.  The Amazon Prime Membership Gift will be sent via email to your guy on the day you choose, along with redemption instructions. You can’t swing a dead cat around the countryside without hitting a craft brewery these days. Pretty much everywhere you turn, there’s a bunch of bearded guys in flannel shirts offering you a free sample of their latest creation, usually something with a clever name like Hops on Pop IPA. You could get something local, something seasonal, or something weird. Great for that friend who’s still drinking Natty Lite at age 32.

Iron four white cotton tea towels, then fold and line up in a row. Using a pencil, draw a clothesline across all four towels, starting on the left with spring and ending on the right with winter. Unfold, and continue the design on each towel, adding loopy cursive labels and seasonal details. Stitch using black embroidery floss for the clothesline, clothespins, and clothes. Add images from each season using colorful floss: raindrops for spring, flowers for summer, leaves for fall, and snowflakes for winter.

This is THE classic book for college students that covers any situation they may find themselves in during their four years of school. Excellent for both college guys and girls, we trust author Harlan Cohen to guide your student in the right direction. Now in it’s 7th edition, this is an excellent gift for both seniors and those already in college.
The leggings and a tee uniform she wore to those afternoon classes isn’t going to cut it for her new corporate gig. Send her off and into the real world with this smart styling service. She’ll fill out a style questionnaire and be matched with a personal stylist, who will send her an assortment of items to choose from. Give a gift card to cover what she decided to keep.
Getting a t-shirt with a reference to his favorite tv show is always a great option! Rick and Morty has an incredibly devoted fan base, and if the guy you're shopping for enjoys the wacky humor in this animated series, he'll definitely appreciate this parody on a Supreme long-sleeve tee. This is also a more stylish option than a lot of the generic t-shirts you'll find supporting a particular show.
I bought this for my son in college. He loved it! It has great recipes that are easy for college students to make. I was very surprised to find that I would actually enjoy making some of the recipes myself. I have a daughter going to college shortly. Best believe she will have this book to take with her. Worth the money. This is also great as a stocking stuffer for Christmas.
I find handmade Christmas gifts to be so thoughtful and meaningful, and I’m sure the people on your gift list will as well. Everyone loves a keepsake, and having your kids add their special touch can make each gift even better, so don’t go it alone. Get the whole family helping like Santa’s little workshop and you’ll have Christmas done in no time!
Stitch Fix is my new favorite for college girls. After taking a personal style survey, a Stich Fix stylist will choose five pieces to send to your daughter. The $20 styling fee is applied to the clothes she decides to keep and can return the rest with free shipping.  Stitch Fix comes in petite and plus sizes so this could be a godsend for hard-to-fit young women.
When the holiday season is in full swing, do you find that your Christmas gift list just keeps growing? Us too. That’s why we made this list of Christmas gifts under $10. Stock up on these inexpensive Christmas gifts now and when December rolls around, you’ll be glad you did. These are the best cheap Christmas gifts that no one will realize are actually cheap. These gifts are stocking-stuffer and secret Santa ready, and you’ll be amazed that all of them are actually less than $10. These inexpensive Christmas presents can be given as presents to friends, neighbors, co-workers, kids’ teachers—anyone. With these Christmas gifts under $10, you won’t be the friend who forgot a gift, and you won’t be the friend who spent too much money either.
The canvas is very strong and comfortable, and there seems to be no defects on the stitching. The buttons, leather straps, buckles and zippers appear to be great quality. I received the XL and think the size is perfect for larger laptops/books. The inner zipper is great for keys while the outer pocket is perfect for the laptop charger and cell phone. There are two pockets on the side, but these are more difficult to get into since there is a buckle (no button) for closure. My only disappointment is that the side pockets are BARELY large enough for a standard bottle of water (and it is still snug). It would have been nice to accommodate different size drinks.
Is he an amateur photographer? This set will transform his mobile phone into an instant Telephoto Camera Lens hassle-free with this Apexel 12X telephoto lens. Our telephoto lens will help overcome the limitation of smartphones that can only take near-sighted photos or low quality zoomed images. It’s like taking superior quality photos like a pro! It attaches to almost all smartphones using its removable clip without leaving ugly marks or scratches on the device.
Does your student love to read or listen to audiobooks? Scribd would be a great gift. This is an audiobook/eBook serve that features THOUSANDS of books. It costs less than $10 a month, and there are so many amazing options. I love my subscription! If you have your student’s email, you can sign up for the discounted student subscription, or you can check out the 60-day free trial. Maybe even grab it for yourself! Here is my full Scribd review.
Does your boyfriend love solving puzzles? Instead of getting a puzzle with dolphins or cars, reach for a more heartfelt gift. Putting your picture on it through websites like Shutterfly makes the personal gift even more special. “I made a collage of us in puzzle form,” said Betty Straub, a junior at Creighton University. “We put it together with each other and it was so much fun.” Say hello to the ultimate date-night activity, paired with a bottle of wine.
This is another one of those nice-to-have items that almost no one buys for themselves. Most of us have our keys attached to a keychain from a now-defunct bank from 1998, or from our dentist, or from whatever commercial enterprise thrust one into our hands as we left their establishment at some point in a foggy, distant past. A nice, light keychain is an easy way to spruce up anyone’s daily routine.
