Thanks for sharing such amazing gift ideas. Well this Christmas season I spent so much time in thinking about gifts but I couldn’t think of anything different. Then I decided to give Himalayan salt lamps as a gift to my loved ones. These lamps are so unique and beautiful. I just love them for myself so I thought that it would be a great thing to give to my loved ones. I got them from ittefaqco.

While you may have horrifying memories of your high school peers over-spraying Axe body spray, Axe has some surprisingly suave scents in their newest line. The brand’s new deodororizer/fragrance blend has a surprisingly mature scent, with this daily fragrance opening with hints of amber, vetiver and cinnamon. It’s perfect for the guy who is ready to smell like a gentleman, but not ready to make the price commitment of a more high-end cologne.
On many college campuses bicycles are the mode of transportation, and helpful accessories are a welcome gift. Vibrelli had a great phone mount that allows for hands-free talking and navigation without the risk of dropping your phone. A rechargeable bike light from Light and Motion makes a nice addition to the gift and helps increase safe biking at night.

Last year, my husband bought me my favorite things from my childhood. A copy of the Mrs. Doubtfire movie, some Dunkaroos, and some Kool Aid. One of my favorite gifts ever because it took so long of us talking about our childhoods for him to come up with my favorites. You could make it less expensive by eliminating the movie and going with favorite childhood snacks. You have to buy some on Amazon because they aren’t in stores anymore necessarily.

Have you blessed her with grandchildren? If you have, then you have already given her the greatest gift of all, but she still definitely wouldn’t mind additional evidence of the existence of those adorable moppets. She can use it to taunt Barb, her workplace nemesis whose no-good son Brad has yet to even have a serious girlfriend. Giving someone a picture of yourself may seem narcissistic, but, trust me, your Mom won’t think so.

One of the problems with taking notes in class is that it takes away from focusing on the lecture. Some prefer to listen carefully to the lecture while recording it and then re-listen to the recorded notes later annotating key points that they want to remember in their notebook. Your student can use a Coredy CR-B5 Digital Voice Recorder to record all their notes while they pay attention to the lecture. It features lossless sound quality, 8 GB internal storage, and up to 32 GB or external storage using an optional MicroSD card. It can also be connected to a PC to transfer the recording. Variable playback speed allows your student to slow down the playback to make it easier to copy notes. Built-in file editing allows your student to manipulate WAV recording files right on the recorder. Bookmarking supports up to 10 bookmarks per audio during playback for easy retrieval of content. Its double power source design with its built-in 360mAh Li-Ion rechargeable battery gives your student 28 hours of record time or adding a single AAA alkaline battery gives them an extra 14.5 hour of recording time. It also has a 1-Year “Worry-Free” warranty. Give the gift that will help your student excel.

Baked Goods are always a very inexpensive, tasteful gift to give. I make homemade cookies, cheesecakes, brownies or even pies, depending on who I’m giving them too and if their needing them for an actual occasion or if it’s just a get together during the holidays. This year though, I told my daughter, who’s 24 and my neice who’s 27, all I want from them this year is to get their behinds in the kitchen with me and let me teach them things that I’ve learned from over 30 years of baking. I bake everything from scratch. No store bought pie crusts in my house, EVER! lol I keep telling them that they don’t want to wait until it’s too late to try for themselves, especially now that they are both mothers too and could pass this down to their daughters. Too, Big Lots is a great place to find inexpensive cook books from Food Network Chefs.
10. Business card holder. Your graduate might be working for a non-profit or for corporate America. Either way, they'll probably have business cards they'll want to hand out at conferences, meetings, and other business events. Consider buying a small, nice, classic business card holder—some can even be personalized—as an inexpensive but highly useful graduation present.
Every year our “tradition” is to do a themed Christmas. My favorite was the year we had to shop at “used” stores. ie – Goodwill, Save & Serve (a second hand store) garage sales, etc. We had a limit of 15 per person. You cannot believe the new stuff with tags still on it that we found for 1.00 – 2.00 or 3.00. My best buy was a set of 10 wood cut houses like FJ Designs that were brand new still in the box for 2.00 each. They still had the price tags for anywhere from 12.00 to 40.00 on it. A store had cleaned out their inventory and we benefited. You can find a lot of things like this at second hand – goodwill type shops and makes your gift giving a whole lot easier on the pocket. I also got a terrific buy on two handmade tall wood stools with swivel tops at a garage sale. I told them what we were doing and that I only had 15.00 to spend and they let me have both stools (oak by the way) for the 15.00. They loved the idea and my son loved the stools. He still has them. 🙂
Hot, comforting mugs of darjeeling are just a steam whistle away with this sleek kettle. Even when it’s not in use, the streamlined design and retro hue make this kettle a must-have stovetop accessory. And let’s be real, there’s something about making tea the old-fashioned way that’s so much more satisfying than pushing some buttons on a microwave.
Once the daily PE classes or high school sports teams wind down, it becomes all too easy for college students to lower their level of physical activity. Sometimes it takes a bribe, in the form of a tech gadget they covet, to get them moving again. Some gift options include, a fitness tracker (Fitbits start at $100) Bluetooth earbuds (The Wirecutter recommends the $100 Jlab Epic 2), insulated water bottles like S’ip by S’Well ($25 each) or a new gym bag.

I own both the Livescribe 3 and the Echo pen from Livescribe. I'm not interested in all the features, so I'll just write about what I've focused on doing: transforming handwriting in ink in my notebook to editable text in a Word document. BOTH PENS CAN DO THIS. Though Livescribe 3 does an extraordinary job of keeping this information from you. Livescribe all but sabotages itself with its terrible web site and near useless manuals.
French presses are a great way to make coffee. With nothing more than water and coffee grounds, you can easily produce a cup of coffee worthy of any Parisian cafe. But until now there have been two big drawbacks: A traditional French Press does not keep coffee warm and the glass carafe is all too easily shattered. Enter the double-wall aluminum French press, which solves both of these problems. This one from SterlingPro is very reasonably priced on Amazon Prime, or we liked the Bodum Columbia in a variety of sizes including a single cup version that makes coffee right in a travel mug. Le Creuset offers a ceramic version (shown) in full array of stunning colors.
Start with a block of 4x4-inch wood, and sand it to smooth the rough edges. Once sanded, paint the top a color to coordinate with your friend's workspace. Cut the bottom of the block at an angle to tilt the base, then measure the sides of the block to determine the length of decorative paper needed to cover them. Soak the paper in water to make it pliable, then use a thin layer of watered-down decoupage medium to evenly attach the paper to the sides of the block. Line up the paper with the block's painted top; if the paper is too long at the bottom end, neatly wrap it around the base. Seal the paper with a top coat of decoupage medium. On the top of the block, measure and mark pencil holes in an evenly spaced pattern; drill holes into the top at a 90-degree angle using a 1/2-inch bit.

Power cords may be very modern, but these leather wraps are a throwback to a much earlier era. Combining what our kids love, tech and the big trend towards natural materials, this set of wraps will keep cords from traveling in a large tangled mess. Given that our kids carry their laptops, phones, tablets, and the necessary array of cords everywhere they go, these will be used every day.
I also docked the mirror because it isn't obvious how to work the suction cup mechanism. I had to watch the very informative video on how to do it. Ideally it would have been obvious without the video. I will say this, the suction holds quite well, and hasn't fallen off yet! That's especially important because the only surface suitable for the mirror to stick to is the inside of the glass shower door. I have to move the door (and the mirror) to get into and out of the shower. The mirror hasn't budged, and I haven't had to reapply the suction cup to the door at all. Good job!
This is another one of those nice-to-have items that almost no one buys for themselves. Most of us have our keys attached to a keychain from a now-defunct bank from 1998, or from our dentist, or from whatever commercial enterprise thrust one into our hands as we left their establishment at some point in a foggy, distant past. A nice, light keychain is an easy way to spruce up anyone’s daily routine.
The Christmas season is upon us, which means we will soon be shopping for the perfect gifts to surprise our loved ones with. Even though the best gifts a college student can receive are a home-cooked meal, good grades, and the sweet relief of another completed semester, here are 10 gift ideas to get for a hard-working college student this Christmas:
If your student is in need of a new laptop, this would be a great gesture. The HP 15 Notebook PC is a great option. The popular Buddy design has now arrived for your kitchen. Buddy uncorks wine bottles with its welcoming open arms. The corkscrew is used manually. The Roku 4 worked fine for the first 3 months and I was happy with it overall. I wanted a 4k streaming device that supported multi-channel audio. I also wanted a platform that had the widest range of compatibility, so the Roku 4 fit the bill. The menu and controls were more responsive than my smartTV (Samsung from 2013). Netflix and Amazon Prime worked well without any probs. The remote is just ok. I don't like the dedicated channel buttons, especially since I don't use rdio or sling. It would be nice to be able to configure those for channels I actually use.
Whether they're lounging, studying, or recovering from a cold your college student needs some of the warm comforts of home. This best selling throw blanket from Amazon comes in 14 different colors to suit any decor scheme and it also comes in a throw, twin, or queen size depending on their preference. They'll have the option to snuggle up to the flannel side or the textured sherpa side depending on their needs.
The top concern for parents sending their kids to college is personal safety. A number of new portable safety devices can help with those worries. Robocopp ($10) for example, is described by the company as a sound grenade. It is a small handheld device that is set off by pulling a plug, releasing a 130-decibel alarm, comparable to an ambulance siren. For a higher price, and small monthly fee, they offer a model that can contact 911. Revolar ($60) is one of a new breed of devices where users can “Check-in” with 1-click, ask for back-up with the 2-clicks (Yellow Alert), and signal an emergency with the 3-clicks (Red Alert). Revolar also has a “Ring Me” feature, which lets wearers call their own phones to provide an excuse to exit a situation.
Sometimes guys’ obsessions with video games can seem a little hard to understand. But if your boyfriend loves them, you can’t pass up an opportunity to hand him something related to it. Buying your man something related to his favorite game, like Overwatch, will show him how much you care. “Even if she hates video games,” said University of Iowa junior Wyatt Dlouhy, “it’s nice to see her go out of her way to learn about something she doesn’t care much about.” Your thoughtfulness will mean so much more than a video game session.
In my unscientific but thorough survey of gift ideas for college students, I would say some 94.8 percent of all college students have, at some point, either received a copy of Dr. Seuss’s Oh, The Places You’ll Go or had it quoted at them. It’s a classic read, but as far as gifts for college students go, it’s clichéd — and you can give a practical, useful, and unique gift to a college student that’s better than that. To make things a little easier, I spoke with actual college students about the most memorable gifts they’ve ever received, the gear and gadgets they use every day, and the items on their wish lists to find the best gifts for college freshmen, gifts for college graduates, and all the students in between.
