If your student is in need of a new laptop, this would be a great gesture. The HP 15  Notebook PC is a great option. It comes with Windows 10 Home, high-definition display, AMD Radeon R5 graphics, HP TrueVision HD Camera, DTS Studio sound and much more. Best of all, HP Has partnered with QVC to offer two exclusive colors; minty green and soft lilac, and will feature this laptop at the lowest price of the season on Saturday, November 26th.
1) Scrapbooks from Michaels. They have had coupons left & right for 50% off reg. priced items. I bought 6 scrapbooks from Michaels @ 3 for $10. They came with 10 pages, so 20 slots counting back and front for scrap pages. And another 2 leather scrapbooks @ $10 each (they were 50% off). The leather ones are really nice b-cuz they have the metal rings so that you can add more page protectors, if needed. And they are pretty large/wide. The 2 leather ones are for me 🙂 I am starting the scrapbook for my mom and sister and I will be adding few scrap pages and scrap tools (ink, letters, etc.) so that they can make some of their own. I think it’s a great gift. Kohls also has good deals on scrapbooks sometimes. You can at times find them for 50-60% off and you end up paying right about $10-$12 (this is if you’re looking for fancier scrapbooks and you’re willing to pay more than $10 for a gift). Try the Dollar Store (even Dollar & Up Stores), Big Lots or shop the clearance section for cheap supplies.
Guys love sports. Even if you’ve managed to find one who doesn’t have his Saturday permanently scheduled with football, he’s probably just waiting until baseball, ice hockey or basketball starts season starts. Give him the chance to watch his favorite team and be ready to either celebrate or commiserate with him over the outcome. Beware if you find a game that pits the two of you against one another.

Cell phones are an indispensable, and expensive, piece of equipment and your student needs a relabel case to keep it from shattering if they drop it (which they will.) While you can find many more expensive models, the Silk phone case has a texture that makes it grippy, not slippy, is lightweight, has protective corners (“airbags for phones”) and is very well-priced. Plus, it gets top marks by the NYTimes Wirecutter.

Luggage may seem like a great graduation gift, but it has real drawbacks for the college-bound. Teeny dorm rooms generally don’t have any place to store empty suitcases. Solution: A set of duffle bags that can be combined, compressed and stuffed under a bed when not in use. Students typically need at least one large bag for packing linens, towels and winter clothes, and a smaller one for weekend trips back home. Sturdy L.L. Bean, and Patagonia duffels start at less than $40. If you want to go high-end, stylish Filson bags start at $150.
In case you’re not aware, death is always clawing its way into you through every pore. Make sure everyone else knows this too by giving them this book. College students are especially clueless. Shatter their precious illusions of health and vitality, in the most entertaining and hilarious way possible. A perfect gag gift for your favorite hypochondriac.
Getting out the door on time and dressed appropriately for the weather is all on her now. Give her the gift of a smooth morning routine with one of Amazon's latest tech offerings: the Echo Plus with built-in Zigbee smart-home capabilities. This top-of-the-line gadget will let her sync up all her music accounts, get news briefs, and request and Uber through a Dolby speaker system — and as she her life evolves, it will grow with her.
11. Briefcase or nice bag. While a briefcase is the traditional gift for a law school graduate, it can also be a great gift for any college graduate. Don't worry about needing to buy the nicest, brand-name, all-leather bag you can find, either; messenger bags and other options might work, too, depending on your graduate's career field and geographic location.
When the Amazon Echo made its debut, it seemed like a great idea. But the large, expensive gadget was not a great fit for college students. At $49.99 (Amazon Prime) and the size of a small clock radio, the Echo Dot is a much better buy. With voice activation, the Echo Dot can order an Uber, wake you up, get sports scores or the weather, answer your factual questions, and read you an audiobook or podcast. Not surprisingly, it can order anything from Amazon Prime. For college kids feeling particularly lazy, the Dot can do conversions and answer simple math questions shouted from across the room.
Thanks for sharing such amazing gift ideas. Well this Christmas season I spent so much time in thinking about gifts but I couldn’t think of anything different. Then I decided to give Himalayan salt lamps as a gift to my loved ones. These lamps are so unique and beautiful. I just love them for myself so I thought that it would be a great thing to give to my loved ones. I got them from ittefaqco.
A huge part of fitting in at school is what music you’re listening to, and what better gift to give a new student than, well, basically all of it? With access to tens of millions of songs, Spotify is the industry standard for streaming, and a premium subscription unlocks ad-free listening and the ability to download songs onto any device for offline use. It’s the perfect add-on to pretty much any gift on this list.
Sometimes guys’ obsessions with video games can seem a little hard to understand. But if your boyfriend loves them, you can’t pass up an opportunity to hand him something related to it. Buying your man something related to his favorite game, like Overwatch, will show him how much you care. “Even if she hates video games,” said University of Iowa junior Wyatt Dlouhy, “it’s nice to see her go out of her way to learn about something she doesn’t care much about.” Your thoughtfulness will mean so much more than a video game session.
Food, honestly, is never a bad gift. People need to eat, and they’d prefer to eat something delicious. Similarly, home décor is often the last thing on somebody’s mind. So give them a jar or vase full of the delicious manna of your choice, and once they’ve scarfed that down, they’ll have a nice receptacle for flowers to go on the dining room table. (Or the hand-me-down kitchen table with the bum leg that could really use all the help it can get.)
45. Video Game Console—Does the college student you are shopping for love to game? He or she would probably enjoy a new gaming system like a Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Microsoft Xbox 360, or Nintendo Switch. These units connect to the Internet so that users can game with friends remotely as well as access web and video services like Netflix and YouTube.
Laptops are one of the most popular and useful gifts for graduating teens. Some college bookstores have deals that come with tech support but, before you make a final decision, see what student discounts you can get from Apple, Microsoft, and Best Buy. When shopping for laptops, or other items from national retailers, parents should be aware that they can generally use college student discounts even if their student does not yet have a college ID card. Retailers often ask for a college email address that many schools issue over the summer, and some will give discounts with a college acceptance letter. Consumer Reports recommends the Acer Spin 1 which retails for about $250. MacBooks with enough memory and computing power for undergraduates start at about $1,100.
Add a touch of class to your messy cables with these easy to use Cord Clams and Headphone Wraps. Perfect for travel, reducing desk clutter at work, storage in your car or at home. Made with Full Grain Leather and heavy duty brass metal, these are elegant and stylish ways to keep your cables neat and tidy. Perfect for phone chargers, headphones, your everyday cables. Compact enough to fit snugly in your pocket, too.
Think of the Amazon Echo Dot like the ultimate study companion. Ask the hands-free, voice-activated device any question, be it study questions or what the hockey score is, and Amazon’s Alexa AI will search the web to get you the answer. Plus, with a few simple words, the Echo Dot can control any lights in your house, set an alarm, notify you of your schedule, quiz you on homework, or Google your study qualms.
20. Photo Book—If you are buying a gift for a college or university student who has moved away from family and friends to attend school, consider giving him or her a photo book. Companies like Picaboo, Shutterfly, and Walmart offer a large number of styles and designs. You just upload pictures and can make a custom photo book that is sure to bring a smile to a homesick college student's face. And it is a great keepsake that can be kept for years.
Does your boyfriend love solving puzzles? Instead of getting a puzzle with dolphins or cars, reach for a more heartfelt gift. Putting your picture on it through websites like Shutterfly makes the personal gift even more special. “I made a collage of us in puzzle form,” said Betty Straub, a junior at Creighton University. “We put it together with each other and it was so much fun.” Say hello to the ultimate date-night activity, paired with a bottle of wine.

I ordered this tool for my son. He is going away to college and I knew that he would need some sort of tools to put together cheap dorm room furniture and hang pictures, etc. I didn't want anything too big so this is perfect and seems to have everything he would need. It is the "Swiss army knife" of tools. It looks like good quality so we will se how it holds up over time. Any place you need tools but don't want to take up space this is useful, like your car or camping.
Cooking with fresh herbs makes all the difference, if you can remember to buy them and use them before they spoil. With Back to the Roots Garden-in-a-Can, houseplants become food and basil, cilantro, dill, and sage are never further than the windowsill. Everything needed to grow and maintain the plants (except water) with no mess and no transplanting is in the can.
Send him back to school after winter break with all the essentials. What is a Smart Pen?  It’s the modern way to take notes in class.  Pens like the Livescribe 2GB Echo Smartpen record everything your student writes and hears either together or separately.  They can tap anywhere on their notes taken on Livescribe Dot paper to replay the audio from that exact moment or transfer notes and audio to their Mac or Windows PC for later review, organization, and sharing.  They can even search their notes for fast location of critical sections.  Sharing is easy via email or other services.  They need to use special paper, but that’s a small drawback compared to how helpful this form of note-taking can be to students.  With all the Livescribe Dot paper formats, your student is sure to find one that is best for them including college-ruled notebooks, lined journals, blank journals, mini journals, A5-sized notebooks, grid notebooks, flip notepads, and even sticky notes.  They can even print their own dot paper for free using the Echo Desktop application.  With 2GB of memory, there is plenty of room for notes or audio including up to 200 hours of audio or thousands of pages of notes.  It comes with a 50-page tarter notebook, the Echo Desktop software, a micro USB cable, 2 ink cartridges, and a smartpen cap.  Give the gift that makes the most difficult part of college (other than the tests and quizzes) easier for them.
Emails just don’t always cut it. Thank-you notes, condolence letters, and even some follow-ups to job interviews still need to be penned by hand, and many of our kids have nothing to write them on. Sure your kid can run to the store every time he or she needs to write a note, but if there’s a nice box of stationery on hand, the chances are much better that the note will actually get written. Moo offers beautiful letterhead that can be personalized on high-quality paper stock. The designs are far from traditional and the paper is safe for laser printers. Paperless Post offers personalized paper stationery in a seemingly endless array of designs.

Laptops occupy a difficult tech landscape to navigate, and by many accounts, the Apple range dominates the student world. But $2,000 is a steep price to pay for the laptop, even if it is essential to students’ success. The Dell Inspiron 7000 gives students a tablet and a laptop in the same bundle. Here’s a quick rundown on the specs: an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256 GB solid state drive, and a convertible touchscreen with a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution. In other words, this thing is the perfect entertainment-meets-schoolwork machine at a pretty stomachable price.

Admit it, you always secretly hoped they’d grow up to be Amish. But you knew if you ever brought it up directly they’d just dig their heels in. Subtly nudge them in that direction by giving them a non-electric washing machine. The operation is surprisingly fast and easy and they’ll save on both electricity and trips to the laundromat. Great for emergency spills and stains.
